Cross Country Team Finish Ninth At Big Sky Championships

Missoula, MONT. - The University of Northern Colorado men's and women's cross country teams both placed ninth at the Big Sky Conference championships today.
The women's team scored 192 points, finishing behind Northern Arizona (33), Weber State (51), Montana (89), Eastern Washington (119), Montana State (129), Portland State (175), Idaho State (185) and Sacramento State (185).
The men's team tallied 285 points, placing behind Northern Arizona (22), Weber State (55), Montana State (95), Idaho State (118), Montana (144), Sacramento State (144), Eastern Washington (146) and Portland State (212).
Denise Kintzley led the women's team finishing 28th, while Katie Wiederholt placed 35th and Kellie Callahan was 36th, while Colleen Sanderlin was 46th and Breanna Spletstoser was 50th to round out the scoring. Jacqueline Lomax was 51st and then Allison McIntire and Rachel Forrest were 57th and 58th for the Bears.
Freshman Daniel Sojka was the men's top finisher placing 53rd, while the next five finished consecutively in 62nd through 65th in Travis Swaim, Benjamin Corchado, Anthony Martinez, Alex Rice and Billy Davenport.
