Cross Country Ends Season At NCAA West Regional
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The sun set on the 2008 Northern Colorado cross country season with several members of the team competing at the NCAA Midwest Regional, hosted by Colorado State. The women had four compete, while Charles Hillig was the lone men's competitor.
In the women's 6-kilometer race, junior Colleen Sanderlin finished 88th overall with a time of 22:37.6, while junior Kellie Callahan was 90th in 22:43.8. Erin Apsey placed 114th after timing a 23:42.7 and senior Brianna Spletstoser crossed the tape in 24:05.0 for 120th place.
Hillig ran a 34:02.4 over 10-kilometers to place 99th in the men's race.
Colorado won the men's team race with 42 points, while Northern Arizona (65), BYU (70), New Mexico (93) and Air Force (173) rounded out the top five. Texas Tech was victorious on the women's side with 42 points, while New Mexico (70), Northern Arizona (92), Colorado (133) and BYU (152) were the other teams in the top five.
