Three Volleyball Bears Receive All-Big Sky Honorable Mentions

OGDEN, Utah - Three University of Northern Colorado volleyball student-athletes received honorable mentions to the All-Big Sky Conference.
Senior middle blocker Lizzy Rhoads, junior outside hitter Dulcie Stone and freshman setter Kristen Schevikhoven received the honors after helping lead the Bears to a 13-16 overall record and fourth place finish in the Big Sky Conference. The Bears went into the Big Sky Tournament as the No. 5-seed and upset fourth-seeded Montana, who swept the Bears during the regular season.
Rhoads capped off her career by ranking seventh in the Big Sky with a .280 hitting percentage. She also ranked 10th in blocks with 63. She was third on the team in kills with 285.
Stone led the team in kills with 315 and totaled 39 blocks. She was also second on the team in digs with 345.
Schevikhoven had a breakout year, ranking third in the Big Sky with 696 assists (11.05/game) in 63 games against Big Sky Opponents. She finished with 1,012 assists overall and also notched 112 kills.
Portland State's Jessica Brodie won the conference MVP award. The Vikings also had Dominique Fradella named the Outstanding Freshman. Northern Arizona's Brittany Stowers was named the Top Newcomer, while Sacramento State's Kristin Lutes was named Libero of the Year.
