Volleyball Ready To Open Home Slate Against Alumni Squad
GREELEY, Colo. -- A blast from Northern Colorado's volleyball past will be in full effect Saturday night at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
Lyndsey Benson's Bears have gotten off to a 6-1 start this season, but all of those games have come on the road. That will change at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, when Northern Colorado opens the home portion of its schedule with its annual Alumni Match against select former Bears players.
Doors for the event will open at 6 p.m., and there is no charge for admission.
The event, which is scheduled for five sets, will give fans a chance to catch a first glance at this year's Northern Colorado team and to take a trip down memory lane with the Alumni Team, which will include, among others, Erin Deffenbaugh, the 2002 NCAA Division II National Player of the Year.
Following the event, Benson's program will celebrate "China Night," where pictures and videos from the team's trip to eastern China in mid-May will be on display.
Refreshments will be provided for those in attendance, and Northern Colorado volleyball season tickets will also be available for purchase.
