Bears swim to title haul at Colorado College Classic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Northern Colorado's women's swimming and diving team brought home seven titles and 20 top-five finishes at the 11th annual Colorado College Classic.

The Bears, with 441 points, came in third out of seven teams at the meet, which ran from Friday to Sunday, Jan. 23 to 25.

Mesa State (797) and Colorado (478) took the top two spots.

Northern Colorado got individual event victories from Whitney Dahms (500 yard freestyle), Chesney Randolph (100 butterfly and 100 backstroke) and Tori Gutt (200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley).

The Bears earned team victories in the 400 freestyle relay (Dawn Adams, J.J. Smith, Randolph and Gutt), and the 200 medley relay (Amanda Donegan, Randolph, Gutt and Smith).

Northern Colorado is now off until this weekend, when it will participate in the Air Force Diving Invitaional on Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31.
