OGDEN, Utah -- Kimmie Feidler' game-winning, buzzer-beater was impressive enough to earn her this week's Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor.
This marks the fifth time already that a Northern Colorado soccer player has won the award and the fourth time a Bears' offensive player has been tabbed.
After receiving a throw-in close to midfield in the waning seconds Sunday against Boise State, Feidler, a junior midfielder, turned and struck a shot from 40 yards out. All that Boise State's goalkeeper could do was watch as the ball sailed over her head and into the upper-left corner of the goal with just five second remaining on the clock.
The goal, Feidler's second on the year, gave the Bears a 3-2 victory over the Broncos and capped off a productive weekend. The team also defeated New Mexico State 1-0 in overtime on Friday night. On the wekend, Feidler had three shots on goal.
With the wins, the Bears remained atop the Big Sky standings with an overall record of 7-3-1.
This marks the first time Feidler has earned the Big Sky's weekly award.
