Northern Colorado falls to Idaho State

POCATELLO, Idaho -- Northern Colorado was not able to overcome a two goal deficit in Idaho on Saturday in a 2-0 loss to the Idaho State Bengals. The Bears fall to 4-9-1 on the season and 0-4-0 in Big Sky play.

The Bengals got on the board first only seven minutes into the match after Megan Stainbrook made an unassisted goal to put the score at 1-0. Stainbrook collected a rebound off of a defender to make the shot from the far right side.

In the 16th minute of the game the Bears put pressure on the Bengals goal with sophomore Kimmie Feidler hitting the post and the crossbar and senior Sydney VanderVelde making a shot that went just wide all in 20 seconds.

Idaho State sealed the win with a goal in the 40th minute of play off of a breakaway shot from Laura Perez.

Northern Colorado will return to action on October 23rd as the Bears continue Big Sky play against Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. at Jackson Stadium.
