Cherrington signs five
GREELEY, Colo. – Second-year head coach Ben Cherrington has announced the signing of five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent at the University of Northern Colorado.
Cherrington adds Nick Adams, Travis Himmelman, Cody Knight, Jess Meis and Garrett Vasquez for the 2011-12 season.
“I am very pleased with our early class this year,” stated Cherrington. “As a staff we have made it a priority to keep our best in-state kids right here in Colorado. I feel like we are moving closer and closer to that goal with each recruiting cycle. We were able to keep some great kids here in Travis Himmelman, Nick Adams, Jesse Meis and Garrett Vasquez. Each of these guys will add tremendous depth to our room and will be immediate impact guys. We only had to go out of Colorado for one kid, and we were able to sign a great student–athlete in Cody Knight out of Georgia.”

“Nick Adams is a hard-nosed wrestler who will work hard and do anything you ask of him,” said Cherrington. “Having had the opportunity to work with Nick at some summer camps, I know he is the type of kid that will run through a brick wall for his coaches and his teammates. Nick is the type of kid that will be successful because he is willing to work harder than the other guy.”
