BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Northern Colorado women's golf team ended play in the first-ever Elco, Inc. women's intercollegiate tournament at Bakersfield Country Club with two thirds.
One was turned in by the team, which finished behind Cal State Northridge (second) and Portland in the final team standings. The other third came from senior Jenny Henderson, who finished tied for third in the individual standings.
The Bears shot a 327 on the second day Tuesday, March 18, to give them a two-day total of 657 (+65) on the 6,200-yard, par 74 course. Portland finished first with a 644 (+ 52) and Northridge was right behind with 656 (+64).
The University of British Columbia (659, +67), Northridge's "B" team (686, +94) and Cal State Bakersfield (701, +109) were also in the field.
Individually, Henderson was solid and consitent for Northern Colorado. Her 6-over-par 80 in the second round matched her first-day total and helped her tie for third with British Columbia's Melissa Core (84, 76) and Portland's Kalyn Dodge (76, 84).
