Women's Golf ends fall season with sixth-place finish

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Northern Colorado women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Santa Clara Invitational, a two-day 36-hole tournament, after shooting a 645 (313, 332).

Sophomore Amanda Myers (Idaho Falls, Idaho) led the Bears, tying for 12th place after shooting a 157 (74, 83). Myers shot the low round of the tournament for the team with her first-round 74.

Host Santa Clara won the team title, while the Broncos Annie Freman won the individual title on the second round of the playoff.

Junior Jocelyn Thompson (Fort Collins, Colo.) tied for 23rd place with a 161 (80, 81), while freshman Baile Winslow (Kansas City, Kan.) placed 26th one shot behind Thompson at 162 (78, 84).

Sophomore Nicole Okada (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) tied for 30th after carding a 165 (81, 84) and freshman Jordan Sunset (Boulder, Colo.) placed 34th at 174 (83, 91).

This was the team's final competition of the fall season. The Bears will return to tournament action in March.
