ERIE, Colo. -- Freshman Carleigh Silvers was Northern Colorado's top individual finisher at the CU Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at Colorado National Golf Club.

Silvers, from Martinsville, Ind., shot a 2-over-par 74 Tuesday afternoon to finish tied for 42nd with a three-round total of 233 (+17). This is the second time out of three fall events that Silvers has been Northern Colorado's top individual player.

Northern Colorado came in 17th as a team in the 20-team field, ahead of Big Sky teams Weber State, Montana State and Eastern Washington.

Sophomore Ali Nelson, who finished last season as the Big Sky Conference individual champion at the conference tournament, was the Bears' only other top-70 finisher, tying for 68th Tuesday after carding 240 strokes (+24) across the three rounds.

The Bears, who were in 16th place after a rain-drenched first two rounds Monday in Erie, will finish up their fall season Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20, at Wichita State's Shocker Invitational.
