Day one results
KANE'OHE, Hawaii -- After two rounds of play at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course, the Northern Colorado women's golf team sits in ninth out of 17 teams with a team score of 631, 28 strokes behind day-one leader Nova Southeastern.
Chelsea Silvers shot a 9-over-par 81 during the first round Monday but came back to shoot a 1-over 73 in the second round Monday afternoon and end the first day tied for 14th. Emily Dougherty (81, 76) also fared better in the second round and sits tied for 32nd.
Carleigh Silvers (78, 81) is tied for 36th, Ali Nelson (85, 77) is tied for 55th, and Abby McNeley (94, 82) is in 84th.
Overall, the Sharks are in first with a team score of 603, and San Francisco, Rollins and Fresno State are within striking distance in the third round, all within six strokes of the lead.
Fresno State's Louisa Lies led after round one with a 6-under-par 66, and she held on to that advantage in round two with a 4-over-par 76.
Final round play at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational will continue today.
