Flavin And Hagen Named To Division I Independent All-Academic Team

GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado women's basketball student-athletes Kayla Flavin and Danielle Hagen were named to the Division I Independent Women's Basketball 2004-05 All-Academic Team this week.

Flavin, a senior guard and team-leading scorer at 8.5 points/game, scored big in the classroom with a 3.64 grade point average. She double majored in nursing and business administration.

Sophomore forward Hagen not only led the team in rebounding at 6.3/game, but also was a leader in the classroom, posting a 3.87 GPA in business finance/pre-law.

Sophomore forward Danielle Hagen had an outstanding academic performance this year with a 3.8 GPA.

Sports information directors at Division I Independent institutions selected the team. To be nominated, a student-athlete had to have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore and had to be a starter or key reserve for the team. The team consisted of five seniors, nine juniors and five sophomores. The cumulative GPA of the all-academic team was 3.658.
