Box Score

GREELEY, Colo. - Poor shooting doomed the University of Northern Colorado women's basketball team in a 68-47 loss at Montana State Thursday evening.

Three players hit double-digits but as a team, the Bears (4-15, 1-6 Big Sky) connected on just 14-of-53 shots, for a 26.4 percent night from the field.

The Bobcats (8-10, 3-4) used a 15-1 run in the first half to pull away, and while the Bears have proven themselves to be capable of staging comebacks, Montana State built up a lead that was too great to overcome.

Whitley Cox and Melanie Drangmeister paced the Bears with 11 points each, while Heather Barbour chipped in 10.

Nicole Ford continued her solid interior play by grabbing nine rebounds. She has now averaged 11 boards per game in her last three contests.

The Bears stay in the Treasure State, and will pay a visit to the University of Montana Saturday evening. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m.
