Weather Continues Reign as Bears Drop Out at Wyoming Tennis Invite

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- In the end, weather proved the biggest foe to Northern Colorado's women's tennis team at the Wyoming Invitational.

Manuela Santos and Hannah LaForest both advanced to the semifinals of their respective brackets, but both came up short on Saturday and had their playback matches canceled because of poor weather in Laramie on Friday that caused havoc throughout the tournament.

Santos, a senior from Itajai, Brazil, lost in three sets to Colorado State's Lauren Strasburger (4-6, 6-2, 6-2).

LaForest, a junior from Greeley, Colo., came up short in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) to Montana State's McKenzie Hilmer.

The Bears will next compete on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20, in the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colo.
