Lobos Too Much in Bears' First Home Swimming Meet

GREELEY, Colo. -- Northern Colorado's women's swimming team struggled in a relay meet against New Mexico on Thursday at Butler-Hancock Swimming Pool.

The Lobos won 11 of the 12 events and ran away with the victory 1,057-839 in the Bears' first home meet of the 2008-09 season.

Northern Colorado's lone victory came in the 300-yard breaststroke relay, where Whitney Dahms, Amanda Donegan and Tori Gutt came in first in three minutes, 4.60 seconds.

Sarah Cooper and Kelly Schmeckpeper-Cook were the Bears' top finishers on the 1-meter diving board. Cooper came in third (243.30) while Schmeckpeper-Cook was right behind in fourth (232.95).

Northern Colorado will next swim in a tri-meet on Saturday, Nov. 15, against Northern Iowa (9:30 a.m.) and South Dakota State (9:30 a.m.) at Butler-Hancock Swimming Pool.
