ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - At the halfway point of the season Bears soccer fell short in a game against the New Mexico Lobos in a 3-1 loss dropping Northern Colorado to 3-4-1 on the season. The Lobos improved to 8-0-2.

This game was the last of a long stand of away games for the Bears who have not played at Jackson Stadium since August 30^th.

Northern Colorado was outshot 10-1 in the first half of the matchup but improved to 10-8 by the second half. It was in the second half that freshman Danielle Birdsall scored an unassisted goal to avoid the shutout for the Bears.

Already facing a 3-1 deficit the Bears ended the game with a strong final push that included three shots and a corner kick all in the last 10 minutes of the game. Birdsall's shot in the 83^rd minute was saved by New Mexico's Kelli Cornell providing Cornell with her only save of the game.

Sophmore Kimmie Feidler made a shot that was blocked in the final minute as well as a corner kick with only 10 seconds remaining.

The Bears return home to Jackson Stadium this weekend as they face Creighton at noon on Sunday.
