Soccer Falls to Northern Arizona to Wrap Up Season


Wrapping up the season at Northern Arizona, Bears soccer fell to the Lumberjacks 2-1 to end the season 7-13-0 (2-5-0 BSC).

Northern Colorado was on the board in the fifth minute of the game on an own goal to put the score at 1-0 for the Bears.

Then in the second half the Lumberjacks turned it up recording 22 shots.  Northern Arizona tied up the game in the 79th minute off of a goal from Jenna Samora off of a long pass.

The Lumberjacks Sarah Neatherton put in the game winning goal less than one minute later after a breakaway.  This win gave Northern Arizona a berth to the Big Sky tournament.

Sophomore goalkeeper Heidi Owen tallied 13 saves in the game. Another Standout in the game was senior Jessica Zimmerman who recorded four shots out of 13 for the Bears.
