Hagen Named Academic All-District Second Team

Feb. 7, 2008

GREELEY, Colo. -- University of Northern Colorado women's basketball senior center Danielle Hagen was today named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII Second-Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hagen is currently pursuing her master's degree in sports administration after completing her bachelor's degree in finance last May. She graduated with a 3.9 grade point average and has a perfect 4.00 in graduate school. She is also one of four Big Sky Conference players honored as both Delaney Conway and Kelsey Kahle from Portland State were named to the District VIII First-Team and Eastern Washington's Sydney Benson was a second-team selection.

Hagen leads the team with 12.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as the Bears are currently 11-10 overall and tied for third place in the Big Sky standings with a 5-3 league record. She ranks second in the conference in rebounding and 10th in scoring. She also is second on the team in assists and has scored 20 or more points in four of the last five games.

To be eligible, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his/her career and the athlete must have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution.

Hagen and the rest of the Northern Colorado women's basketball team host Weber State tonight at Butler-Hancock. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
