Hagen Earns Player Of The Week

Northern Colorado's Danielle Hagen and Idaho State's Natalie Doma have been named the Big Sky Conference Co-Women's Basketball Players of the Week for games played between Jan. 14-21.

Hagen led the Bears to two conference wins at home last week, including a 61-56 upset over league-leading Portland State on Saturday. Northern Colorado also defeated Eastern Washington 71-57 on Thursday night. Hagen averaged 17.5 points, 12 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while going 61.1 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The senior center scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds against the Vikings. She made 5-of-6 free throws in the final 44 seconds to help seal the victory for the Bears. Hagen added four assists and two blocks. In the win over the Eagles, she recorded 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The native of Sidney, Mont. made her way up the Northern Colorado record books with her performance last week. She moved into 10th place on the career assist charts, with 230 total. Hagen is the only center that ranks among the assist leaders. Her 24 rebounds also moved her into eighth place in the school records with 669 total.

Doma posted back-to-back 30 point games as the Bengals beat Montana and Montana State at home. With the wins, Idaho State moved into a first-place tie in the Big Sky standings with a 4-1 record.

In a 90-77 victory over the Lady Griz on Thursday, Doma notched 30 points and 11 rebounds. She also went an amazing 16-of-16 from the charity stripe, which is the best single game free-throw percentage in the country this season.

The senior center tallied 33 points on Saturday as the Bengals beat the Bobcats 85-80. She is now tied with Les Roh for the Idaho State all-time scoring lead, regardless of gender, with 1,964 career points. Doma also grabbed 11 boards in the win to become the fourth player in Big Sky history to record 1,000 career rebounds.

The native of Victoria, British Columbia averaged 31.5 points and 11 rebounds per game last week. Doma has received Player of the Week honors four total times this season.
