Krista Van Hauen
Krista Van Hauen is the newest coach for
Northern Colorado women's basketball and comes to the Bears from
Bradley University and was named assistant coach on July, 17 2008.
Van Hauen will handle team travel in addition to
her on the court duties, as well as some of the team's scouting and
player development.
Van Hauen began played prep basketball at
Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock High School where she was a three time
conference MVP and a letter winner in basketball, golf, volleyball,
track and softball. In addition to this she was also named to the
All-State, All-District and All-Conference first teams.
In her time at Waldorf College Van Hauen was the
teams co-captain in the 2000-01 and 2003-04 seasons. Some of the
awards won by Van Hauen at her time at Waldorf include being named
to the Midwest Classic All-Conference first team, Daktronics-NAIA
All-American scholar athlete and first team NJCAA All-American.
She led her team at Waldorf to a third place
finish at the NJCAA National Championship in 2001. Van Hauen also
competed for the golf team while at Waldorf being named to the
All-Conference team for her efforts.
Van Hauen served an the Director of Women's
Basketball Operations while at Bradley University all while
studying to earn a Masters degree in coaching from the United
States Sports Academy. At Bradley Van Hauen was responsible for
travel and game film and brings her experience to Northern Colorado
in this area as well as organizing camps for youth.
