Northern Colorado's Men's Tennis Team Defeats Colorado Christian University, 6-1, To Start The Fall Season.

GREELEY, Colo.- Northern Colorado men's tennis started the 2007 Fall Season with a 6-1 victory over visiting Colorado Christian University on Friday, Sept. 21 at the Butler-Hancock Tennis Center.
In singles action the Bears swept the Cougars. Senior Vinnie Fallico defeated Clint Walder, 6-3, 6-3. Senior Austin Nunn took down Kevan Angel, 6-3, 6-2. Senior Paul Tschetter beat Mark Carrillo 6-4, 6-1. Graduate Student Kollman Gearhart downed former Bear Andrew Wren, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Greg Werner made a nice debut with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Andy Richardson. The Cougars were awarded a forfeit in the last match.
On the doubles side, the team of Fallico and Nunn defeated Angel and Walder, 9-7. Gearhart and Tschetter paired up to beat Carrillo and Wren, 7-5. The Cougars were again awarded a forfeit in the last doubles match.
Northern Colorado men's squad will next be in action on Oct. 5-7 as the team travels to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, N.M.
