Men's tennis shut out by Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The men's tennis team at Northern Colorado dropped a tough battle at Northern Arizona on Saturday, 7-0. The Bears are now 2-13 on the year and 0-7 in Big Sky Conference action, while the Lumberjacks improve to 5-10 overall and 3-1 in league play.
Jeff Carlson and Ryan Lane forced a tiebreaker at number one doubles, but eventually lost 9-8 (7-2). The Lumberjacks also won the other two doubles matches for the 1-0 lead.
The match saw the return of Robbie Edwards to the lineup. Edwards has missed just over a month with an undisclosed injury.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets, though Travis Day lost a tiebreaker in the second set at number six singles to Josh Brown, 6-3, 7-6 (6-4).
The Bears return to the court tomorrow in a neutral site match, playing Western New Mexico in Phoenix. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 am.
