Men's tennis can't keep Falcons down in nonconference loss

AIR FORCE ACADEMY -- The Northern Colorado men’s tennis team fell in a nonconference match to Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The Bears won at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, but that was it in a 6-1 loss to the Falcons.

Northern Colorado couldn't get the doubles match point after the Bears' top squad of Adam Perez and Calix Van Lier knocked off Air Force's Austin Francis and Cody Hall, 8-5, and the Bears couldn't build any momentum after Van Lier won at No. 1 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 10-6 against Francis.

NC’s Andy Green (No. 4) played a tough match but was narrowly defeated by AFA’s Taylor Soster 7-5, 6-4.

The men will return to the court at noon Tuesday, March, with a match against Xavier back at the Air Force Academy.
