GREELEY -- The America Sky Men's Golf Conference announced its annual awards Wednesday and Northern Colorado stand-out Stephen Bidne was named a Co-Player of the Year.

Bidne, a junior, who shared the POY honors with Binghamton's Jake Katz and Sacramento State's Grant Rappleye, is Northern Colorado's first Division I conference player of the year -- in any sport.

Along with the Bears, the eleven-team America Sky consists of Texas-Pan American, Chicago State, Weber State, Utah Valley, South Dakota, Hartford, North Dakota, Binghamton, Houston Baptist and Sacramento State.

The player of the year awards, as well as the first and second-team honors, were determined by rankings given by GolfStat and GolfWeek.

Bidne had a breakthrough junior campaign in 2009-10 as he earned two conference player of the week awards.

The Minnesota native finished third in the conference in scoring average (73.75) and won an individual tournament championship in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in the fall. He also came in eighth at the America Sky Championship.
