Northern Colorado moves up one spot after second round in Goodyear
Despite another day of ideal conditions to go along with solid rounds by two Bear golfers, the Northern Colorado mens golf team struggled to move up in the leader-boards at the Denver Desert Shootout.
The Bears finished up its second-round of play at the Palm Valley Golf Club with a team score of 296 (+8), moving past Northern Iowa into thirteenth place in the standings.
Bears in 14th place after opening round in Denver Desert Shootout
After a three-week layoff, the Northern Colorado mens golf team found itself back to work at the Denver Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Arizona over spring break.
After the first day of action, where the Bears shot a first-round score of 288 (+6), the team sits in fourteenth place, ahead of host-school Denver, as well as Utah and Southern Utah.
Bidne earns second America Sky player of the week
Northern Colorados Steve Bidne was named America Sky Conference Golfer of the Week for the week ending Feb. 24, 2010, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Bidne rallied after a first round of 77 with rounds of 71 and 72 en route to a ninth place finish for the junior at the Washington State Snowman Getaway Tournament in Chandler, Ariz.
Bears finish in eighth at Snowman Getaway
The Northern Colorado mens golf squad used a strong final round to land itself in eighth place at the Washington State University Snowman Getaway.
The Bears final round score of 300 (+12) was its best of the tournament and enabled the team to move up a spot on the final day at Whirlwind Golf Club.
