Waggener Named NFFCC Player of the Week

Northern Colorado senior quarterback Bryan
Waggener was named the National Football Foundation
Colorado Chapter Player of the Week, the group announced late
Monday evening.
Waggener completed 21-of-32 passes for 281 yards with two
touchdowns, no interceptions and no sacks in a 21-17
come-from-behind victory over South Dakota. He also rushed five
times for 14 yards and scrambled to evade a sack four times.
Waggener threw a 53-yard TD strike to Alex
Thompson in the first quarter and hit freshman
Jace Davis on a 24-yard route for another in the
second to give the Bears a 14-0 lead. He then engineered a 13-play,
89-yard drive in the fourth quarter that took almost six minutes
for the go-ahead score. On that drive, he completed 5-of-6 passes
with three coming for more than 10 yards and two on third-downs.
With his 281 passing yards, he moves up one spot on the NC
career charts to seventh with 4,431 yards and he moved up two spots
to sixth in total offensive yards with 4,619.
Waggener and the rest of the NC football team take to Nottingham
Field for the final time in 2009 on Saturday when they host
Sacramento State at 12:05 p.m.
