The following are quotes from Coach Downing on this year's class.

Head Coach Scott Downing - General Comments
"The important thing is to thank everyone in the athletic department from (athletic director) Jay Hinrichs on down. There was a great commitment from everyone at the university to helping us out."

On The Importance of Recruiting Linemen
"I am very pleased with how well we did with the linemen. We felt it was a critical area of need for us."

On The Character of the Recruits
"We're excited about these young men. Not only do we think they will be able to help our team with their athletic ability, but they also have great character. That is always something we look for in a player. From top to bottom, I am impressed with these young men."

On Douglas County High School running back Andy Muns
"We're excited about Andy Muns. He will bring a physical presence for us at running back. He's a smart kid who has the ablity to make some gamebreaking plays. He is a physical player who is developed beyond his years."

On Mt. San Antonio College transfer quarterback Dominic Breazeale
"Dominic brings us a quarterback who has the ability to make a lot of plays with his size."

On Compton Community College transfer defensive lineman Nasseer Ghafur
"We were very fortunate to latch on to him. Coming out of Montbello High School in Denver, he was recruited by a lot of Big 12 schools. He is someone that can come to our defensive line and help us right away."

On Thomas Jefferson High School defensive back Korey Askew
"Korey is not only a good athlete but also a ball hawk. He will bring a lot of playmaking ability to the secondary."

On Grandview High School defensive lineman Ethan Davis
"Ethan is an energetic lineman who plays with low pads and penetrates into the backfield that can create confusion for the other team."
