Big Sky Conference Release

PARK CITY, Utah – The Big Sky Conference Sunday announced the members of the 2012 preseason Big Sky All-Conference football team and Northern Colorado had both junior linebacker Clarence Bumpas and senior return specialist Dominic Gunn honored.

Bumpas was named to The Sports Network preseason All-America Second Team earlier in the week. Bumpas led the Big Sky in total tackles a season ago with 145 and also ranked fourth in the FCS in tackles per game with 13.18. He also had three pass break-ups, two quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Bumpas notched double figures in tackles the final nine games of the year and had seven or more solo tackles five times.

Gunn broke the Northern Colorado single season and career records for kickoff return yards a season ago. In 2011, he totaled 724 yards on 28 returns to bring his career total to 1,572 yards. Gunn also caught 25 passes for 330 yards and scored four touchdowns as a wide receiver and had 12 punt returns for 52 yards in his junior campaign.

The team was chosen by selected media and the league's sports information directors and released at the start of the Big Sky Summer Kickoff.

Southern Utah quarterback Brad Sorensen was named the Big Sky Preseason Player of the Year on Offense, while Montana State linebacker Jody Owens was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Both players, along with Bumpas are in Park City, Utah for the Big Sky Summer Kickoff.
