Getting to know: David Deans

GREELEY, Colo. – As the Northern Colorado football team inches closer and closer to the season opener on Sept. 3 against Lindenwood, the practices continue to build in intensity.

To celebrate the quickly approaching 2011 season, each practice prior to school starting uncbears.com will be highlighting a different senior on the roster. Each senior will be asked a series of questions and then those same questions will be asked to a roommate or friend on the team, as well as another player of the same position to test how well they know each other.

Senior running back David Deans is hoping his final year, and first on the field for the Bears, is something special. Deans, who hails from Natchitoches, La., started his career at Western State in 2007 and redshirted. He then transferred to Northern Colorado, but did not play football for two years. In 2010 he got the itch and returned to the gridiron, but was unable to play.

Uncbears.com sat down with quarterback Dylan Orms and fellow running back John Burnley to see how well they know Deans off the field.

For the second-straight night, a teammate correctly matched 6-of-15 answers to tie for the season-high as Burnley seems to know Deans a little better. Orms guessed four right. Stay tuned tomorrow to see how well the 2011 Bears team knows each other.
