Getting to know: Cameron Kaman

GREELEY, Colo. – Sunday’s football practice at the University of Northern Colorado won’t go down in history as the best practice ever, but both sides of the ball had several big plays as the team continues to learn a new offense and new defense.

To celebrate the 2011 season, each practice prior to school starting uncbears.com will be highlighting a different senior on the roster. Each senior will be asked a series of questions and then those same questions will be asked to a roommate or friend on the team, as well as another player of the same position to test how well they know each other.

Cameron Kaman enters his fourth year of handling the punting duties and has been extremely strong early in camp. Last year, Kaman earned Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week on Nov. 8 after punting six times for an average of 48.3 yards per punt. Kaman currently ranks fifth in Northern Colorado history with a 40.2 career per punt average. He also enters 2011 ranked fourth amongst active FCS punters with his average and third with 7,271 total yards.

Fellow kickers Dave Eden and Mason Puckett were polled to see how well they know Kaman off the field.

Eden won day four of “Who Knows the Seniors” getting 4-of-15 questions correct, while Puckett got three right. The two placekickers answered several questions the same as each other, but different than Kaman. Stay tuned tomorrow to see how well the 2011 Bears team knows each other.
