Kaman earns Big Sky special teams honor

Northern Colorado punter Cameron Kaman, a 5-11, 165-pound junior from Overland Park, Kan., was Monday tabbed the Big Sky Conference special teams player of the week.

Kaman averaged 48.3 yards per punt on six punts with a season-long of 72 yards in Northern Colorado’s 21-14 loss to Northern Arizona. He had punts of 47, 51, 52 and 72 during the game.

His 72-yarder pinned NAU at its own 7-yard-line. He also had a 29-yard punt that pinned the Lumberjacks at their own 2-yard-line.

The 48.3-yard average is the best single-game average since Northern Colorado transitioned to Division I. The 72-yard punt also ties for the eighth longest punt in single game school history.

This is Kaman’s first career player of the week honor.
