Crudo and Johnson named All-Tournament

OREM, Utah – Northern Colorado senior third baseman Tony Crudo and junior right-handed pitcher Jake Johnson were named to the Great West Conference Baseball All-Tournament team on Saturday after the conclusion of the championship game.
Crudo hit .529 over the four games in the tournament, including a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate in the final game of his career. Of his nine hits, three were doubles and he finished second on the team with five RBI. Crudo had a slugging percentage of .706 and was 2-for-2 in stolen bases with one sacrifice bunt.
Johnson pitched a complete game in the win over NYIT, allowing just one run on four hits with one walk and one strikeout in 76 pitches. The NYIT Bears hit just .176 against Johnson as he led the team to an 11-1 victory.
Utah Valley’s Billy Burgess earned Tournament MVP honors after the Wolverines won their third-straight title.
The Bears finished 2-2 at the championship and in fourth place, winning games over NYIT (11-1) and Texas-Pan American (14-13) sandwiched between losses to Houston Baptist (10-3 and 11-5).
