Hilker named First Team by College Sports Madness

OREM, Utah – The awards continue to roll in for the Northern Colorado baseball team as four players were named to the College Sports Madness Great West All-Conference teams on Tuesday.
Senior short stop Adam Hilker was named to the website’s First Team, while senior first baseman/right-handed pitcher Casey Coy, senior outfielder Adrian Schenk and freshman outfielder Jensen Park were all named to the Second Team.
Hilker is currently on a 19-game hitting streak and has been on base in all 53 games in which he’s played. He’s hitting .391 on the season and hit his second home run of the year in the final regular season series at Utah Valley.
Coy is hitting .340 in his final campaign and leads the team with 17 doubles. He also is tied for 16th nationally with seven triples and is currently on an 11-game hitting streak, which ties for the longest of his career.
Schenk is second on the club with a .364 batting average and currently ranks fifth in the nation with eight triples after hitting two in a game twice during the year to knot the school’s single game record. Schenk also leads the team with four outfield assists.
Park hit .360 during the regular season and leads the team with seven sacrifice flies and 11 total sacrifices. He is tied for second on the team and 16th in the nation with seven triples and as a true freshman, has a .477 slugging percentage.
The quartet, along with the rest of the Northern Colorado team, begin play in the Great West Conference Tournament at 3:30 pm on Tuesday against Houston Baptist.
