The reason I came to UNC is because when I was being recruited, they made me feel so comfortable.

I’m majoring in Communications and minoring in Sociology. My dream is to go further in basketball, but if that doesn’t happen, I’d like to have my own radio broadcasting show that appeals to a broad cross section of listeners. I’d cover current events, specific things going on in the world, in a way that connected with a lot of different kinds of people.

My experience here has been so terrific. The coaches are incredible supportive, they help you out so much. They’re always here for me. They’ve helped me out in helping me learn the game, taking it step by step. They’re always on my butt, but it’s a good thing.

I’ve been playing basketball since I was a little kid. I’d love to have the opportunity to play with the athletes I admire. I like the travel, getting to work with new people, getting to meet new people, like I have here.

I like UNC because there’s such a variety of things to do on campus. There are lots of sports to go to, and show support for the other athletes on campus.

My favorite spot on campus has to be the gym. The facilities are so nice. They just rewaxed the court for this summer and it is great.

So many professors have made a difference to me. Cheryl Pawlowski (Ph.D., Associate Professor of Communication), was my Small Group Communications professor. She just made class so much fun. She involved the whole classroom in everything she did, and made it seem easy. I also enjoyed a class taught by Angela Henderson (Ph.D. Sociology). She helped me transition from the small college I attended in Iowa to UNC. She helped me figure out where to go, what to do, and was there for me if I needed extra help. She is just great. The professors at UNC really care about the students.

When I want to grab a bite to eat on campus, I head to Taco Bell in the University Center.

I really like Greeley. It’s close to my home in Denver, so it’s convenient for me. I love the stores and shopping here. It’s just a comfortable place.
