Michael Kallsen joined the Northern Colorado family in August 2007 as the Bears' Athletic Academic Advisor. He was promoted to his current position in August 2008.

A Greeley native, Kallsen holds a bachelor's degree in heatre arts and speech communications from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo., and a master's degree from Northern Colorado in educational leadership and policy studies with an emphasis in higher education and student-affairs leadership.

In his role as assistant director for academic success Kallsen helps achieve the goals set by the associate athletic director for academic success, advises freshmen and transfer student-athletes with regard to Northern Colorado's and myriad conference and NCAA policies, and coordinates Northern Colorado Athletics' annual APR data submission process.
